1996 WaveVenture 700
When we Purchased this ski, the first thing we had to do was rebuild the engine. This machine was very reliable, started easy, and had simple easy to use information center. It had a fuel gauge, an oil level gauge, as well as warning lights. It also had a Speedometer. (On my machine the Speedometer did not work, because somebody took the sensor off the hull for parts. I never botherd to purchase a new one.) The top speed was 40 MPH on GPS. we raced it against a 1996 580 SP. The 580 took off a bit faster because it is a smaller lighter machine but the top speed was VERY VERY Close. The Yamaha might have had even a litle bit on the seadoo. (.1 or .2 MPH. Very little) This Yamaha did have enough to pull a tube, with a passenger on the back to spot (Yes the Legal way) but it took almost every bit of power the 80 HP engine produced. With to many fat people on board it would not plain. just plow water and reach a top speed of maybe 10. (yes we tried it.) Great touring machine, and the rooster tail was cool!!
